Objectives:

Resources

The primary objective of the course is to provide the student with an understanding of the physiological and biochemical basis for nutrient requirements.  This is accomplished by teaching biochemistry in the classical sense of whole animal metabolism.  The course stresses biochemistry, metabolism and nutrition as quantitative sciences.  That is to say, biochemistry, metabolism, and nutrition can be described and expressed in quantitative terms, i.e. mathematical equations.
